This is the technique I used in "Ex". It uses the same fundamental technique as my Clone and Levitation Tutorials, though with noticeable differences. I originally developed my own method of "Super-Fast Running" for "3 Seconds" by watching a few frames from "The Phantom Menace" over and over, but I believe this method to be far superior. Think of it as a "Smallville" effect.

This is the technique I used in "Ex". Though there are easier methods, such as using one of AlamDV's lightning plug-ins, no others allow you to create such a realistic and manageable effect. That is, until EffectsLab incorporates the use of such effects. Personally I can't wait for that, it'll make life so much easier and the big boys like Adobe will have to take notice. Until then, this is the best method.

This technique uses the same fundamentals as my Super-Fast Running and Clone Tutorials, though with noticeable differences. I originally developed this method to see if I could create a convincing effect. This is a great alternative to green/blue screen compositing, as it doesn't require either of those, but it does require precision editing and timing, as well as a static camera (you could use a moving camera to create an extra-cool looking shot, but the camera movement and timing would have to be exact each time you filmed a new element, which I am currently unable to do).

This technique uses the same fundamentals as my Super-Fast Running and Levitation Tutorials, though with noticeable differences. I originally developed this method out of sheer novelty, and I soon created quite a few F/X Tests. This is the technique I used in "Ex". It was the third tutorial I stumbled across and allowed me to create what I believe to be the best looking effect, and the most true to LucasFilm.

This is the technique I used in "3 Seconds". It was the second tutorial I stumbled across and generated surprisingly better and more true to LucasFilm results than Method 1.

This is the technique I used in "Shotgun". It was the first tutorial I stumbled across and at the time, the easiest to use, given my limited experience with the above software. It's not the most Lucasfilm-true effect, but it's a good place to start. |
